Dr. Daniel Dafo, DDS
Owner & General Dentist
Dr. Dafo knew he wanted to work in medicine, but it was dentistry that he fell in love with. Through working in volunteer dental clinics, Dr. Dafo saw people walking in ashamed of their teeth, and walking out ready to interview for jobs they'd been avoiding – but needed. That changed everything for him.
Outside the Office:
When he's practicing in one of the Namu dental offices (or getting hands-on in the business side of things), Dr. Dafo enjoys spending quality time with his family.
What He Loves Most:
Dr. Dafo says, "Seeing someone get their confidence back — that's everything. Their smile, their livelihood, their whole outlook can change." One patient in particular has stuck with him. After driving from Florida to West Virginia, the patient slept in her car to get a free denture. After it was done, she hugged everyone on the team, and was visibly more confident than when she had arrived.
His Approach:
Dr. Dafo believes in same-day care whenever possible. With multiple practices across Virginia, Dr. Dafo has built a team and invested in the tools needed to care for patients thoughtfully — without unnecessary handoffs or delays. He understands that real life doesn’t stop for dental emergencies.
Dr. Dafo is also passionate about Sleep Apnea diagnosis and treatment after being diagnosed himself. For him, dentistry isn’t just about the teeth; it’s about making sure the entire mouth, including airways, are healthy and functioning properly.
Dr. Marlene Miles
Associate Dentist, 35+ Years Experience
Dr. Miles has been in dentistry officially since she was 14, but her passion began as a young child pulling teeth from dolls. From working the front desk, to being a dental assistant, a hygienist, and finally dentist, Dr. Miles has more than 35 years of experience. She's held every job in the office, giving her a perspective and experience that just can’t be replaced.

What She Loves Most:
Dr. Miles’ favorite part of the job – even after all these years – is watching patients overcome their fear. "What they tell me is, 'I'm not afraid anymore.' That's the best thing I can hear." Throughout the decades, she's seen her patients grow up, bring their kids in, and now bring in grandkids to see her. That kind of relationship is built over decades of showing up, listening, and doing good work.
Her Approach:
Dr. Miles won't pressure you into any treatment procedure – ever. She says, "We never start until they say yes." And she means it. She'll show you what's going on, explain your options, and let you decide when you're ready.
Plus, Dr. Miles is trained in TMJ treatment, so if you’ve been experiencing jaw pain, headaches, neck tension, she’ll help get you on the right path toward comfort.
